Potatoes have always been a staple in my house but some dishes can take a long time to prepare. This recipe uses the slow cooker to cook the soup while you are away. Simply place all the ingredients in the slow cooker, set the cook time, and leave the soup to prepare itself.
Serve hot with homestyle bread.
4 cups vegetable broth
8 baking potatoes cut into quarters
1 sliced red onion
1 cup cream
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp ground sage
salt and pepper to taste
Combine broth, p0tatoes, onion, and sage. Mixture can be placed in a pan overnight before cooking.Place in slow cooker and cook for 8 hours on low.
Mix cream and flour together until smooth. Stir mixture into cooker and use a masher to mash potato. Cook for 1 hour.
Mixture can be garnished with cheese or sour cream.
