Brown Sugar Cookies

Brown sugar cookies are sweet and crunchy. They’re a great alternative to gingerbread or molasses cookies. Serve with tea or a steaming mug of coffee.



2 3/4 cups flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp cream of tartar

1 tsp salt

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 cup soft butter

2 eggs

2 tsp vanilla


Mix sugar, brown sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy.  Add dry ingredients and chill in refrigerator overnight.

Roll dough out, cut up shapes and decorate as desired.  Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes.
