Cherry biscuits are a great treat for a mid day snack. The tart cherries work perfectly with the savoury dough. They are wonderful paired with Garlic and Chive Biscuits on a Christmas platter.
3 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
4 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 cup cold diced butter
1 1/3 cup almond milk
1 beaten egg
1/2 cup dried cherries
Add flour, salt, baking soda and salt in a bowl.
Fold in cold butter until crumbly.
Add the milk and mix until incorporated.
Fold in dried cherries.
Roll dough between 2 sheets of parchment and cut with cookie cutter.
Place on a non-stick cookie sheet and brush tops with beaten egg.
Bake at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 15 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
You can also make Garlic and Chive Biscuits for a savoury treat.
