Freezer Biscuits

Freezer Biscuits are ideal for those times when you want something light but don’t want to cook. The dough is made and frozen for the future and then simply placed on a cookie sheet and cooked in the oven.

Serve with your favourite jam.

INGREDIENTS

3 cups flour

1/4 cup sugar

4 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp cream of tartar

1/2 cup vegan margarine

1 vegan egg

1 cup almond milk

Sharp Cheddar Biscuits

Sharp cheddar biscuits are made from Greek yogourt  and your choice of cheddar cheese.  I prefer sharp cheese but you can make it with the type of cheese you prefer.  The recipe makes a great mid-day treat.

INGREDIENTS

2 tsp baking powderSharp Cheddar Biscuits

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 cup flour

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated

1/2 cup milk

3/4 cup Greek yogourt

2 tbsp oil

Mix wet ingredients into a bowl including the cheddar cheese.

Combine dry ingredients together.

Mix wet ingredients into dry.

Drop by spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes.

Serve warm with butter.

Rosemary Sunflower Tea Biscuits

1 1/2 cups flour

3/4 cup whole wheat flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp lemon pepper

1/2 cup chopped rosemary

1/4 cup sunflower seeds

Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.

6 tbsp sunflower oil

1 cup almond milk

1/2 cup vanilla Greek yoghurt

1 cup grated cheddar cheese

Mix wet ingredients.  Combine wet and dry ingredients just until mixed.  Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.  Bake at 375 degree Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.

Baking Biscuit Pizza

This is a quick and easy way to make pizza when you don’t have time to make pizza dough.  Plate and serve the pizza with a knife and fork.  It’s the perfect meal for a busy week day.

Ingredients

2 cups flour

Goat Cheese and Sun Dried Tomato Biscuits

2 cups flour

1/2 tsp salt

3/4 cup milk

4 tsp baking powder

2 tbsp of oil from your sun dried tomatoes

20 sun dried tomatoes  in oil (Cut up)

3/4 cup of crumbled goat cheese

Crumbled goat cheese to cover biscuits.

Mix flour, salt and baking powder together in a bowl.  In a separate bowl add milk, tomato oil, sun dried tomatoes and crumbled goat cheese.  Mix  wet and dry ingredients.  The batter will be stiff.  Roll in balls and place on cookie sheet.  Slightly flatten and sprinkled with goat cheese.  Bake in oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 to 20 minutes.
